2013 წლის 1 მაისს ქუთაისის ამერიკული კუთხის გახსნის წლისთავისადმი მიძღვნილი საიუბილეო ღონისძიება გაიმართა. ღონისძიებას უძღვებოდა ქუთაისის ცენტრალური ბიბლიოთეკის დირექტორი ნარგიზა ჩოგოვაძე.

ამერიკულ კუთხეს საიუბილეო თარიღი აშშ–ის ელჩმა რიჩარდ ნორლანდმა, აშშ–ის საელჩოს საზოგადოებრივ საქმეთა განყოფილების წარმომადგენლებმა, ქუთაისის მერიის წარმომადგენლებმა, სსიპ ქალაქ ქუთაისის №17 საჯარო სკოლის დირექტორმა, მასწავლებლებმა მოსწავლეებმა, სტუდენტებმა და უცხოელმა მოხალისეებმა მიულოცეს. საიუბილეო თარიღთან დაკავშირებით ამერიკული კუთხის აქტიური წევრების მიერ დადგმული პოეზიის თეატრალური წარმოდგენა გაიმართა. ამერიკული კუთხე არის პატარა, ამერიკული ტიპის ბიბლიოთეკა, რომელიც განთავსებულია ადგილობრივ პარტნიორ ორგანიზაციაში, ძირითადად ბიბლიოთეკაში. ამერიკულ კუთხეებში ამერიკის შესახებ წიგნების კოლექცია, და აუდიო-ვიდეო მასალაა განთავსებული. ყველა ამერიკულ კუთხეში ინტერნეტის უფასოდ სარგებლობაა შესაძლებელი. ამერიკული კუთხის კარი ყველა მსურველისთვის ღიაა.

 

On May 1st, the American Corner in Kutaisi marked its First Anniversary. The event included the official remarks from the American Embassy and local municipality representatives, as well as an exciting theatrical performance of the American Corner young members. Guests and active users of the American Corner thanked the U.S Embassy for the support and interest in the educational and cultural development of Kutaisi. In his remarks, Ambassador Richard Norland congratulated the American Corner and Library staff and thanked the AC active users for their great devotion and support of the American Corner in Kutaisi. The American Corner anniversary was attended by the representatives of the Mayor’s office. Among invited were also active partners for programming, including the representatives of local schools, education resource centers, librarians, students, Peace Corps Volunteers and USG program alumni. American Corners is a joint partnership project that promotes cooperation and understanding between the United States and Georgia by providing accurate information about the U.S. Access to American Corners and their collections is free and open to all interested citizens of Georgia.
